This Boston North End engagement photo session was one of my favorites to date. We had the perfect summer evening, the weather was incredible, and who doesn’t love the North End?! I’m so excited to share Riley and Ryan’s engagement photos, and can’t wait for their wedding day!
A Boston North End Engagement Photo Session
Riley and Ryan really wanted to have an engagement session that felt authentic to them. They used to live in the North End, so they opted to have their session there as a nod to that chapter of their lives. We had so much fun walking around the streets of this charming Boston neighborhood!
They brought along their pup so they could reminisce about the neighborhood walks they used to go on together. We even made a pit stop at their favorite dog bakery, Polkadog Bakery! It was seriously too cute. If including your dog in your wedding is important to you, bringing them along on your engagement photos is a GREAT way to include them. Especially if it’s not an option to have them at your actual wedding.
As the sun started to set we headed down towards the water to enjoy the view. It was a perfect summer evening in the city!
Engagement Photo Session Tips
Engagement photos are so much fun – it’s such a sweet way to capture this special moment in your lives. I always encourage my couples to take them if they can!
It’s also a really great way for us to get to know eachother before your wedding day. You have the chance to get to know my photography style, and I have a chance to help you get comfortable in front of the camera.
My favorite engagement photo session tips to pass along to my couples all have to do with the planning. First, I always recommend imagining what you want your vision for the session to be, and then decide on the location from there. Like Riley and Ryan did when they decided on the North End. It was a location that had a lot of meaning to them in their relationship, which made for super authentic and genuine photos.
Second, think of the session like a date where I just happen to be tagging along, snapping your photos. You’re guaranteed to have a good time this way! And finally, when you’re deciding what to wear, make sure you pick something you’re comfortable in and that makes you feel your best. I loved how Riley and Ryan opted for casual and breezy outfits that were perfect for a July night out.
