Caroline and Pouya’s engagement party at the Hampshire House Boston was just that! It was an elegant and intimate evening focused on connection with their closest family and friends.
The historic charm of the venue, combined with the couple’s classic, nostalgic aesthetic, created such a beautiful atmosphere for celebrating this special moment in their lives.
About The Hampshire House Boston
The Hampshire House is located right in the heart of Beacon Hill in Boston, and it’s such a distinctive venue for private celebrations.
It’s a turn-of-the-century Brahmin mansion that was constructed in 1911 by architect Ogden Codman Jr., who also designed some of the Newport Mansions. The original owners, Bayard and Ruth Thayer, entertained regularly, and it was truly a place to see and be seen!
Today, the Hampshire House hosts all sorts of private events, from weddings to engagement dinners like Caroline and Pouya’s to corporate holiday parties. If you’re looking for an event venue that truly has that classic Boston feel, the Hampshire House is an incredible option.
The mansion looks out over the Boston Public Garden, which is a beautiful view, but could also make for a great photo opportunity depending on what you’re looking for out of your event. The interior has lots of stunning crystal chandeliers and marble throughout, which also provide gorgeous backdrops for your photos!

Caroline + Pouya’s Engagement Celebration at the Hampshire House Boston
Caroline and Pouya wanted their engagement party to focus on quality time with their family and friends while capturing beautiful portraits together. They were really looking forward to this intentional time with their loved ones. And their aesthetic was the perfect match for the Hampshire House’s historic architecture!
The room where they held the dinner portion of the evening is lined with built-in bookshelves, so it has a classic library feel. I loved all the woodwork throughout, which adds so much grandness to the space. The fireplace is also a beautiful statement piece that made the space feel especially cozy for Caroline + Pouya’s late November event!
A family friend of theirs created the stunning floral arrangements for the party, which added such a personal and meaningful touch to the decor. There was also a harpist performing throughout the celebration, adding a nice elegance to the atmosphere.
It was a beautiful evening all around, focused on the connection and love between Caroline + Pouya and their guests. I was honored to be there to document these moments for them as they begin this new chapter!
