I am so excited to share the details from this Boston courthouse wedding today. Madison and Kevin opted for a less-traditional wedding and planned a romantic Boston elopement, with the most stylish reception afterward for their closest family and friends. Their entire day completely captured the essence of classic and romantic style. Read on to see more from their beautiful elopement day!
A Classic + Stylish Boston Courthouse Wedding
Madison and Kevin originally planned to have a traditional Boston courthouse wedding with just the two of them, but as it grew closer they decided to invite along a small group of loved ones. Boston is where they began their lives together, and they wanted to plan an elopement day with the beautiful city as the backdrop. They set out to plan a very classic and romantic wedding and from every detail, they truly captured that vibe.
The group began the day getting ready at The Newbury Hotel, where the couple also shared the sweetest first look. Madison wore a classic off-the-shoulder wedding gown with a long veil dotted with pearls. She also carried a timeless bouquet of all-cream roses. Kevin suited up in a classic white and black tux – they were truly a look!
From the Newbury Hotel, we walked the streets of Boston making our way to City Hall, stopping for photos along the way at the Boston Public Gardens. Boston’s gorgeous architecture provided the perfect scenery for the walk. Once we made it to City Hall, Madison and Kevin made it official, and then their friends and family celebrated with them outside. We were able to capture a few iconic post-wedding ceremony shots on the steps outside of City Hall as the party tossed flower petals on the happy newlyweds.
Next, the whole group boarded a trolley and we headed to the reception site (but not before breaking out into a dance party on board the trolley first!). Madi and Kevin rented out the South End restaurant Frenchie Wine Bistro for a beautiful private dinner. The evening was cozy, romantic, and elegant. You could not ask for a more perfect setting for their intimate party.
Boston Elopement Tips
There are so many advantages to planning a non-traditional, smaller wedding like Madi and Kevin’s. With a small guest list, you can take advantage of multiple locations for activities and photos, as we were able to do throughout the city on Madi and Kevin’s day. You are also far less rushed and don’t have the same pressure to get through all of the traditional events when hosting a large group of people. We were also able to take the day slowly, and capture both digital and film photos! Madi and Kevin will have their memories from the day preserved for their lifetimes. A Boston City Hall wedding does not have to be boring! You can plan lots of unique and fun moments to make your day really special and memorable.
