If you are looking for New Hampshire elopement inspiration, then you can’t miss this post. Lauren and Anthony planned the most epic mountain-top sunrise elopement in New Hampshire last summer, and it could not have been more perfect. I’m so honored that they brought me along to photograph the experience!
A Beautiful New Hampshire Elopement Day
What do you imagine when you picture your perfect wedding day? For Lauren and Anthony, it began before sunrise. We met at the trailhead of their favorite mountain and hiked by headlamp and flashlight to the summit. They dressed there by flashlight until the sun began to rise, and then met each other on a beautiful rock formation where their dear friend Chelsea married them. It was a beautiful, heartfelt ceremony! The only guests in attendance were Chelsea to marry them, myself, and my husband (L + A are actually close friends of his!) – and of course, we cannot forget their sweet pup, Leo!

Following their private ceremony, we spent time exploring the top of the mountain, checking out the views, and enjoying the warmth and glow of the morning sun. From there, Lauren and AJ changed back into their hiking gear, donned the cutest “just-married” signs on their backpacks, and we hiked back down the mountain and headed to breakfast at one of their favorite restaurants.
NH Elopement Tip
When it comes to planning your wedding, it is so important to honor the aspects that are most important to you as a couple. Really craft the day that you want rather than what you think you “should” do.
Lauren and AJ love to be outdoors hiking, camping, playing with Leo, going to the beach, and playing sports (hello ultimate frisbee!), and so I absolutely loved how this elopement was truly a representation of them and their relationship. The hike that they chose for their NH elopement also held significance – it is one of their favorites and one of the first that they ever did together as a couple.
It was most important to them to have a private and heartfelt ceremony with just the two of them, so they planned this mountain elopement excursion, and then hosted a small reception the next day in order to still include their family and friends.
