I’m excited to share the first of two posts today that are all about Gabrielle and Nathan’s two-day wedding celebration! They began their wedding weekend with an intimate Martha’s Vineyard wedding ceremony, followed by a reception at the Chequessett Club the next day.
The whole weekend was the perfect expression of the two of them and their love story, and I was so honored to be a part of it all.

An Intimate Martha’s Vineyard Wedding Ceremony
Both locations for Garbielle + Nathan’s wedding weekend were spectacular and really highlighted the beauty of the natural landscapes. However, I especially loved the personal significance of their ceremony location.
They chose to have their ceremony along Great Tisbury Pond on the Vineyard because Gabrielle grew up spending summers there with her family, and she has many fond memories of her time on the island. Over the course of their relationship, she’s taken Nathan over for a few day trips, and the Vineyard has become a special location for them.
Their ceremony site itself was a private location along the pond, and it was so secluded and serene. It was such a hidden gem to get to, and there wasn’t a soul in sight upon arrival except for their intimate group!
The day was a little overcast, but the setting did not disappoint. It took on the energy of G + N and was just stunning.

A Two-Day Celebration
The following day after their ceremony, G + N hosted a larger, extended celebration at the Chequessett Club in Wellfleet. I loved how they were able to incorporate two locations that were dear to them. It was also a beautiful way to balance the intimacy of an elopement while still getting to celebrate with their larger circle of family and friends!
If you’re feeling torn between having an intimate, elopement-style ceremony or a traditional wedding reception, let this be your reminder that you can do both! There’s always room to think outside the box as you’re planning.

Martha’s Vineyard Weddings
Aside from the unbeatable coastal setting, Martha’s Vineyard weddings are amazing because there’s an element of adventure to them. Getting to the island is part of the fun!
I always recommend to my couples that you include the full story in your wedding documentation, even the ferry transportation. It’s a memorable trip, so let’s include it in your photographs!
For instance, Gabrielle and Nathan had evening photos on the ferry after their ceremony. This could also be a fun way to start a welcome party at the beginning of the weekend – there are so many options!
