It’s been a little while since I’ve shared some engagement photos, but after spending time with Kayleigh and Jack at their session, I knew I had to share this one! We took their beach engagement photos in Gloucester, MA, and had the best time. I’m in love with how their photos turned out, too!

Beach Engagement Photos in Gloucester
For Kayleigh and Jack’s beach engagement photos, we decided to meet at Wingaersheek Beach in Gloucester. Wingaersheek is a summertime favorite and a super popular spot on the North Shore. For Kayleigh and Jack’s evening session in May, however, we were lucky to have the beach almost to ourselves!

I always guide my couples to choose a location for engagement photos that has some significance to you and your relationship. So K + J picked the beach – a place they love to spend time together in the summers. They’ve spent a lot of time apart throughout their relationship, so they really appreciate the time that they do get to spend together.
K + J the amazing idea to bring some oysters for a little romantic picnic, and it was so much fun! Their big splurge for their upcoming wedding is a raw bar (they LOVE seafood), so this was such a cool way to tie in that part of their story to their engagement photos.

We also had incredible lighting during their session. We met at golden hour and enjoyed the sunset at the beach while K + J relaxed, sipped champagne, and basked in the excitement of being engaged.

Kayleigh + Jack’s Love Story
Kayleigh and Jack have been together for nearly ten years – they first met in high school! They shared some mutual friends, and then when they were paired as lab partners in Physics class, they completely fell for each other.
Over the years, they’ve spent a lot of time apart as they’ve each pursued school and careers. Most recently, Kayleigh moved to Milwaukee for medical school, and while long distance can be a challenge for many couples, it has actually brought them closer. They’ve learned to adapt to different circumstances and how to truly cherish the time that they do get to spend together.

K + J have supported and encouraged each other through so many life events already – including Jack getting an offer accepted on a house on the same day that Kayleigh received her White Coat! They’ve built such a strong foundation together already.
I couldn’t be more excited for them as they celebrate this next chapter of their lives, and can’t wait for their wedding at Floriana in Ipswich in 2026!

My Best Engagement Photo Tips
The number one thing I always share with my couples as they’re planning their engagement photos is to treat the session like a date. It doesn’t have to feel like a formal photoshoot, and in fact, I prefer for it to be anything but that!
Choose something you love to do together, and then relax and have a good time. This could be a picnic at the beach like Kayleigh and Jack chose to do, a stroll through the park with some coffee, or even drinks at your favorite bar! More than anything, it’s a chance for us to get to know each other before your wedding day, for you to get comfortable in front of the camera, and for you to soak in this exciting season of your lives.
I shared even more engagement photos tips in this post, so if you’re in planning mode now, definitely check it out!
