Sarah and Greg’s Boston Public Library wedding was everything you could imagine when you think of classic elegance in Boston. It was such an honor to be a part of their day. I’m so excited to share the photos from this gorgeous event! They had a beautiful vision and everything came together perfectly.
A Classic Boston Public Library Wedding
One of My Favorite Boston Wedding Venues
The Boston Public Library is hands-down one of my favorite Boston wedding venues. If you are looking for a venue rich in history and packed with stunning architectural details, you’ll definitely want to tour the BPL. The building’s classic architecture is what I love the most about the venue . It allows for a classic, elegant and luxury wedding vibe!
Where is the Boston Public Library?
The BPL is located right in Copley Square, which offers guests a unique, up close and personal view of Boston’s skyline as they arrive. It’s also conveniently located near several gorgeous hotels which are perfect for getting ready. The Fairmont Copley, Lenox, Hilton, and Westin hotels are all nearby.
How Much Does a Boston Public Library Wedding Cost?
Wedding packages at the BPL range from $8,700 – $21,500. They offer several different options for ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner locations within the building. This includes the stunning courtyard (where Sarah and Greg held their ceremony!), and the famous Bates Hall with bookshelf-lined walls and the classic green lanterns on desks that double as dining tables (S + G held their dinner there). Additional options include the Abbey Room, Boylston Room, and Guastavino Room. The staff will work with you to customize your vision for your day!
Details from Sarah + Greg’s Boston Public Library Wedding
Being able to photograph Sarah and Greg’s Boston Public Library wedding was such an honor. They are both so wonderful to be around, and their day was just stunning! It was so apparent that their happiness was shared by their families and wedding party. Sarah and her mom shared a few happy tears while getting ready which was touching. And then she and the bridesmaids even broke into song during photos! S + G are both musical, so it was very fitting.
They had an incredible vision for their wedding, especially the reception space, and they brought it to life in the most spectacular way. Being a November wedding, the whole event had really beautiful and unique lighting. We started the day with a first look and portrait photos in Boston Common just as the sun was beginning to set for the afternoon.
The Ceremony in the Courtyard
From there we headed to the Library in time to capture some more photos of Sarah and Greg just before guests arrived. S + G opted for an evening ceremony, and by the time it began the sun had completely set. This made for such a romantic and cozy ceremony in the courtyard! It was absolutely elegant. The ceremony was also really sweet and personalized – both of their siblings gave readings and an uncle married them which was all very special.
The Reception in Bates Hall
After the ceremony guests enjoyed a cocktail hour, followed by dinner in Bates Hall. Open dancing to the live band finished off the evening – everyone had a blast! All of the details from their day were perfect as well. Sarah wore a cozy fur coat shawl over her stunning gown, the bridesmaids were beautiful in fall-toned velvet dresses, and the florals were a unique take on typical fall colors with pops of soft blue mixed in with the traditional orange and burgundies. Sarah’s shoes were also to die for – gorgeous Jimmy Choos with large pearl accents.
