Capturing these newborn photos at home for Shannon and Abby was such an honor. They were one of my wedding couples a few years ago, so it’s SO exciting for me to share this new stage of their lives! Keep reading to hear all about their loving family and this special at-home family photo session!
Shannon + Abby’s Growing Family
I first met Shannon and Abby several years ago as they prepared for their wedding. Like many couples during 2020, they wound up having a very small and intimate backyard celebration that year and then had their larger celebration with family and friends later in 2021. So needless to say, I have been honored to get to know them so well over the last few years and am beyond excited for this new chapter in their lives!
S + A originally met years ago playing soccer in college, and have been together since. When it was time to make things more serious, they both planned proposals for each other that would melt your heart! And then their wedding day at Moraine Farm in Beverly was such a special day filled with so much love. [Read more about it here!] It is very fitting then that their family photo session with their newborn was so precious.
Newborn Photos at Home
Shannon and Abby welcomed their daughter, Monti, this spring, and I was SO grateful to be able to capture these early moments with them. For their newborn photos at home, we had a relaxing time just enjoying the everyday moments with the baby (and their sweet pets, too!).
When it comes to family photo sessions, I like to document what a day in the life of the family actually looks like. So that is just what we did at Shannon and Abby’s house! I always encourage casual outfits because they really complement an in-home session. I like to make it fun and easy to capture this time authentically. Diaper changes, yawns, and cries are all par for the course with babies, so there shouldn’t be any pressure for the “perfect” photo!
I believe in natural, raw, and authentic photography – photos that make you remember how you really felt at that moment.
