Estate Wedding By The Sea | Addie + Steve

I am so honored to share this gorgeous seaside estate wedding from last September – not only because it was so beautiful and picturesque, but also because I knew the groom from high school! Steve and Addie are such a sweet, loving couple, and it was a true joy to capture their wedding day.

A Beautiful Coastal Wedding

Addie and Steve’s wedding took place at a private estate in Nahant, Massachusetts, on the most perfect early September day. The venue overlooked the ocean and was the perfect backdrop for their beautiful day. 

Following their ceremony, they escaped to the backyard of the estate to take some secluded garden photos of just the two of them, sharing in their joy of being just married. Since the estate sits right on the ocean, we were also able to capture some stunning shots with the rocky coast as a backdrop. 

The bridesmaids wore beautiful gray-green dresses that resembled the color of the ocean in New England. The venue was elegantly decorated with classic monochromatic white florals with greenery. Addie and Steve also had lawn games and polaroid cameras out for guests to have fun with! It was truly a picture-perfect coastal wedding in New England.

Addie + Steve’s Love Story

For their first dance, Addie and Steve danced to Lovely Day by Bill Withers – which they chose because it reminds them of each other and to have fun and take each day as it is. This song selection sums up their love perfectly! 

They first met at a party in college, and not too long later discovered they had something special. They spent their time together in college hiking around Amherst, and then after college moved to San Francisco together. For two years they explored the city – hiking, rollerblading, and restaurant hopping, until deciding to move to Chicago together to be closer to family in 2019. 

Then, Steve planned a trip to Montana where he took Addie on a beautiful hike at Glacier National Park. He found a secluded beach at the peak and surrounded by snowy mountains, he dropped to one knee and asked Addie to marry him. They were both filled with emotion and excitement to spend the rest of their lives together. 

Getting to capture such a loving couple’s wedding day was so special to me. They had the best day surrounded by their family and friends in the most beautiful seaside setting.
