Riley and Ryan’s Shepherd’s Run wedding was such a beautiful end to the summer season. I had photographed their engagement session in the North End, so I was really looking forward to reconnecting with them on their wedding day. They created a celebration that felt relaxed, meaningful, and full of time with the people they love most. And with Riley’s incredible eye for design, every detail came together perfectly.

A Shepherd’s Run Wedding Day
Riley and Ryan’s day started out with such fun energy. The guys played whiffle ball before getting ready, and meanwhile, Riley got ready with all the ladies while I captured a few detail shots before she got into her dress.
Her gown had the most beautiful detailing, and her bouquet was stunning. It was filled with whites, oranges, and light blue accents, giving her the perfect summer wedding look!
Once everyone arrived at the venue (they rented an antique trolley for transportation, so fun!), we took some portrait photos of Riley and Ryan as well as with their wedding party. The groom and groomsmen looked sharp in classic black suits, which fit in perfectly with the vibe of the venue. And the bridesmaids had the perfect coastal look to tie everything together!
From there, we all headed to the ceremony site. One thing I really love about Shepherd’s Run is the secret garden vibe of the property. There is beautiful architecture and greenery throughout the grounds of the estate, but the ceremony location in particular really makes you feel like you’re tucked away in a secret garden. It’s beyond lovely.
Shepherd’s Run Wedding Reception Details
Riley and Ryan’s reception was stunning, and one of my favorite setups of the year. The sailcloth tent, checkered dance floor, thoughtful linens, and florals in woven baskets all created a classic Rhode Island wedding atmosphere. It was polished but still so inviting. Riley’s unique vision came together perfectly!
As the night went on, guests enjoyed dinner, dancing, and time together under the tent. The whole day had such an easy, joyful flow to it, and you could really feel how grateful Riley and Ryan both were to celebrate with their loved ones.
I also took Super 8 films throughout the day, which added such a nostalgic, warm feel to their final gallery. I love it when my couples choose to include Super 8, because it’s such a unique way to relive your wedding day!
About Shepherd’s Run
Shepherd’s Run is one of my favorite wedding venues, so I was thrilled to photograph Riley and Ryan’s day there.
It’s a Rhode Island winery wedding venue with truly beautiful grounds and so much to offer couples and their guests.
The property includes guest rooms in the inn so loved ones can stay onsite, plus a full wellness center where your guests (and yourself and your wedding party!) can enjoy spa services.
One of the things I love most about Shepherd’s Run is how versatile it is throughout every season—its cozy indoor spaces are perfect for fall and winter weddings, while the sailcloth tent (like the one Riley and Ryan used) is ideal for spring and summer celebrations.
The estate itself was built in 1933 as a historic summer home, giving the venue classic New England charm. Located in South Kingstown, it’s a wonderful setting for a coastal-meets-elegant wedding weekend.
Shepherd’s Run can also accommodate large celebrations of up to 300 guests, which makes it an excellent option if you’re hosting a bigger event. It’s truly a stunning and flexible venue, and Riley and Ryan’s day is such a great example of how beautifully the space adapts to your personal vision.
