I couldn’t be more thrilled to share these beautiful Boston spring family photos today! I have worked with Kirsten and Tom several times over the past few years, and I’ve loved getting to know them and their sweet daughter so much. For this session, we were celebrating their daughter’s second birthday! It was such a delightful morning.
Boston Spring Family Photos with Kirsten + Tom
Several years ago I had the honor of capturing Kirsten and Tom’s wedding at their family church. They are high school sweethearts, and their love for eachother is always infectious! And then last year they reached out to photograph their baby girl’s first birthday. So I was SO excited and honored to capture another milestone with them now that their little one is two!
We spent the day at one of their favorite parks, and in classic New England fashion the weather was questionable – but we had a blast regardless! It was overcast with a slight chance of rain, but I’m so glad they embraced the day and we had an amazing time. Despite the weather the sky was still bright, which made for beautiful lighting for their photos.
We had a blast exploring the park, and letting their daughter explore and play. Kirsten planned coordinating (but not matching!) outfits in blue tones for each of them so they all looked so cute and perfect for spring! It was the best day. And to top it all off – they brought birthday cupcakes to celebrate!
My Approach to Family Photos
My favorite way to approach family photo sessions like this one is for everyone to just have fun. There’s zero pressure on the family, and it’s very informal. I guide you into interactions with each other, and I capture the fun your little one naturally leads you into. These images capture the heart of your connection with one another because they depict the real moments in an artful way.
