The Top 15 Best Wedding Venues in New England for Any Celebration Style
If you have been searching for the best New England wedding venue, then I’ve got you covered! Today I’m sharing 15 of my favorites across MA and NH, so no matter your style – coastal, city, or country – I’m rounding up the very best.
Coastal Wedding Venues in New England
If you are considering a coastal or seaside wedding in New England, you will definitely want to check out these venues! One of my favorite seaside locations is the Crane Estate in Ipswich, MA. The estate has three options for weddings – The Great House, which is a gorgeous mansion overlooking the ocean, The Barn, a more intimate setting with views of the nearby salt marshes, and Steep Hill Beach, which is a more casual environment where you can rent the lawn for an outdoor event on the coast.
Another favorite spot on the Northshore of Massachusetts is Misslewood Events at Endicott College. This New England wedding venue boasts beautifully landscaped grounds overlooking the ocean, and an all-seasons tent with chandeliers and sconces for your reception. It is a must-see!
If you are looking for a Cape Cod wedding venue, you must check out Wychemere Beach Club’s newest venue, Dune. This venue is located right on the beach in Harwich, MA, and offers ceremony locations either on their rooftop terrace or private beach. It is truly a beautiful venue. If you are looking for something outside of Massachusetts, the Glen Manor House in Portsmouth, Rhode Island is absolutely elegant and stunning. The historic estate was completed in 1923 and has meticulous landscaping and waterfront lawns with gorgeous views.
Best Boston Wedding Venues
If a classic city wedding is more your style, then you will want to check out these Boston wedding venues. The Boston Public Library is a popular New England wedding venue for elegant and classic weddings. The iconic building is in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood and has several event spaces. It is definitely worth checking out for a classic Boston wedding!
There are also several museums in the city with event spaces, including the Institute of Contemporary Art, and the Museum of Science. Both of which offer a unique experience for your guests. Another really unique venue is Artists For Humanity (or AFH). AFH is a venue with a mission. They employ under-resourced teens in order to provide them with tools for self-sufficiency through paid employment in art and design. If you are interested in a wedding venue that is giving back to the community, AFH is it!
Finally, another elegant wedding venue in Boston is the State Room. The State Room is located at the top of a skyscraper downtown and offers multiple spaces for your reception, each with epic views of Boston’s city skyline. The spaces are perfect for a modern, urban wedding.
Country and Rustic Wedding Venues in New England
If coastal or urban weddings are not your vibe, then you may want to consider checking out some of these venues located in more country and rustic settings. For Massachusetts venues with an elegant estate feel and stunning landscapes and gardens, check out The Garden at Elm Bank in Wellesley, The Estate at Moraine Farm in Beverly, or Willowdale Estate in Topsfield.
Head a bit further north to New Hampshire, and you will find some beautiful locations as well. For a barn wedding with a little bit of a rustic vibe, check out The Barn on the Pemi in Plymouth, NH. There you’ll find mountain views and peaceful wilderness. The Barn on the Pemi also has lodging on-site for your bridal party. There are also accommodations for guests nearby at The Common Man Inn & Spa and The Common Man Lodge.
For a barn wedding with much more of a chic aesthetic, look into The Greenery at McKenzie’s Farm. The Greenery is owned and operated by a former bridal makeup artist. The aesthetic she created in the space is fresh, modern, and chic.
Finally, if an elegant mountain wedding is what you are looking for, then you will love The Omni Mount Washington Resort, located a bit further north in Bretton Woods, NH. The Omni Mount Washington is the perfect backdrop for an elegant wedding in any season, including a beautiful winter wedding in the mountains.
As a Boston-based wedding photographer, I love capturing all of the beautiful moments of my couples’ day. Any of these venues would provide a stunning backdrop for memorable images that you will treasure forever. You cannot go wrong! If you are beginning your wedding planning process, I would love to hear from you!
