I absolutely adored Chloe and Matt’s wedding vibe. They planned a simple yet beautiful wedding at The Essex Room in Essex, MA. Every detail of their day was beautifully intimate and special to them. If you are looking for North Shore wedding inspiration, read on to see more from Chloe and Matt’s day!
An Intimate Essex Room Wedding
The day began with Chloe getting ready in the bridal suite, and Matt sharing a moment with his groomsmen at The Lobster Trap Pub – one of the Woodman family’s restaurants. Chloe wore a beautiful lace wedding dress and Matt’s grandmother’s emerald ring for her new wedding band. The ceremony took place outdoors on the grounds of The Essex Room, with Matt’s niece and nephew serving as the flower girl and ring bearer – so precious! They also had their good friend officiate the ceremony which was special to them. Their ceremony arch was made of birch tree logs and decorated with bright-colored flowers. Chloe’s bouquet was also made up of vibrant florals, and her ‘something blue’ was a little blue flower pin fastened to her bouquet.
After the ceremony, Chloe and Matt shared a private moment together in the bridal suite celebrating finally being married. This is always my favorite moment during every wedding day – there is so much emotion and I take my role of capturing it authentically for you very seriously!
From there, the newly married couple joined their guests in the reception hall for dinner, dancing, and toasts. And the very best part? For dessert, they served a variety of homemade pies instead of a traditional wedding cake! I love when couples skirt tradition and incorporate their own personality into their day.
A little about The Essex Room
The Essex Room is a lovely North Shore wedding venue in Essex, Massachusetts. If you’ve never explored this part of the state, I highly recommend it! Essex is a quintessential New England town tucked into Cape Ann. With lots of little antique shops and restaurants along the salt marshes, it’s the most idyllic location for a coastal wedding. The Essex Room is a wedding venue owned by the Woodman family, of the famous Woodman’s seafood restaurant, located on the same property. They have been family owned and operated since opening in 1914! With a function hall, bridal suite, outdoor ceremony area and on site gardens, The Essex Room is a great option for a North Shore wedding.

Chloe + Matt
As I mentioned, I really enjoyed having the honor to photograph Chloe and Matt’s beautiful wedding at the Essex Room, and I just loved their vibe. They are the sweetest couple! They met while they were both living in San Francisco, and got engaged during a weekend away at a cabin. So sweet! Thank you both for allowing me to capture your beautiful day, and wishing you a lifetime of happiness!
