Lauren and Nick’s Brooksby Farm wedding was truly special. It took place on a gorgeous spring day and incorporated lots of elements unique to them. In fact, their wedding was on the first Saturday of May, so they included some fun Kentucky Derby traditions in their day! They were actually originally planning to elope, but then decided to extend the celebration to include additional family and friends as well as their dog Cedar. A Beautiful Brooksby Farm Wedding
The day began with Lauren getting ready on-site at the Smith Barn. Then she and Nick met up for a first look in the gardens on the property. [Wondering if you should have a first look on your wedding day? Check out this post for some ideas!] After that, we captured some family photos, including portraits with Cedar of course! And then Lauren was tucked away as guests began to arrive for the ceremony. The beautiful couple were married under a trellis arbor in the gardens with all of their loved ones present.
Massachusetts Barn Wedding
After the ceremony, guests were treated to an outdoor cocktail hour. Everyone then headed into the barn for the remainder of the reception. If you are looking for a Massachusetts barn wedding venue, the historic Smith Barn at Brooksby Farm is great! It’s located in Peabody, Massachusetts, and has been meticulously restored. The post and beam structure, paired with lots of string lights, makes it super charming and very classic New England. It also sits on acres of orchards, which made for some beautiful golden hour photos of the couple and their guests!

Special Wedding Day Touches
I really loved getting to know Lauren and Nick and was so honored to be a part of their day. I also loved that they included lots of special touches and traditions on their wedding day.
For example, Lauren had a note on her dress that was from her late grandmother to her cousin – each of the female cousins on her side has incorporated it into their days. Lauren’s mother gifted her a ring while she was getting ready, and she included that, as well as a charm from her grandmother, on her beautiful all-white bridal bouquet.
Weddings allow for so many opportunities for sentimental touches like this, which is one of my favorite things to be able to capture! I believe that the honest and authentic moments on your wedding day are the ones you will treasure forever.
