Sarah and Jake’s Bretton Woods wedding at the Omni Mt. Washington resort was incredibly heartfelt and sweet. They treasured every moment together, and their happiness was contagious! It was an absolutely gorgeous summer day in New Hampshire, and I am so excited to share all of the details here today.

Sarah + Jake’s Love Story

Sarah + Jake’s love story began in 2018 when they met through a mutual friend. Their friendship very quickly blossomed into a relationship, and they spent several years together in Boston before getting engaged on a romantic trip to California. One of the things they love to do together is to take road trips from Boston up to New Hampshire, particularly to ski at Bretton Woods. So over the course of their relationship, they watched the new Rosebrook Lodge being built on the Omni Mt. Washington property. They always told each other that that is where they will get married one day. They were so excited to be making their dream a reality!

Everything about Sarah + Jake’s wedding day was subtly stunning. From the flowers to the view, everything was beautiful without being flashy or loud. All of the details truly added to the romance of their day.

They began the day getting ready at the Mount Washington Hotel, which is also where S+J shared a first look prior to the ceremony. From there, we took the Bretton Woods Gondola up to the Rosebrook Lodge. This was one thing that was very unique to their venue – guests all enjoyed this same ride up the mountain, taking in the scenic views along the way! Once at the summit, the ceremony took place on the lodge’s terrace, overlooking the mountains. The ceremony flowers were unlike any I had ever seen before and were gorgeously accented with moss! Shout out to Mountain Roots Farm for the stunning designs.

A lovely cocktail hour followed the ceremony also on the terrace, where guests enjoyed old fashioneds topped with special garnishes made by Sarah’s dad! From there everyone moved inside for the reception. The lodge has large walls of windows, so even from indoors, everyone had stunning views of the mountains. The reception decor was beautifully coordinated – their colors of sage green and white went perfectly with the outdoor scenery. They even had a super fun guestbook – a telephone that guests could pick up and leave messages on for the couple! This is a cool trend that I am loving. Sarah, Jake, and their guests spent the rest of the evening enjoying dinner and dancing to the wonderful live band.

An Intentional Wedding Day

The thing I really loved about Sarah and Jake’s wedding, however, was that their vision for their day complemented their connection perfectly. They were very intentional about each of their choices, which made my job as their storytelling photographer even easier! We were able to capture all of the candid moments that really told the story of their day in a way that I hope they will cherish forever. Everything about Sarah and Jake’s wedding was one for the books!
