Julia + Enrikson’s Gore Place wedding was the perfect late summer New England wedding. They began their day with a church ceremony at the College of the Holy Cross Chapel in Worcester, and then treated guests to a beautiful reception at Gore Place in Waltham! It was the perfect blend of tradition and a great party.
Boston Church Wedding at College of the Holy Cross Chapel
Julia and Enrikson’s wedding day began at the College of the Holy Cross chapel – St. Joseph’s Memorial in Worcester, MA. This chapel is significant to them because this is where Julia was baptized. Their ceremony and mass took place mid-morning, and it was the perfect early September day. Julia actually wore her mother’s wedding dress, and she looked so elegant and beautiful! Enrikson also wore some significant pieces – a cross necklace and a bracelet from his family. I love churches in general for their architecture and grandeur, and St. Joseph’s is gorgeous! It has incredible natural light which made for a beautiful ceremony for J + E. After mass, we took some portrait photos outside of the church before everyone headed to Waltham for the reception later that afternoon.

Gore Place Wedding Reception
Once we arrived at Gore Place in Waltham, we were able to explore the grounds and capture some more photos before the rest of the guests started to arrive. I absolutely love Gore Place – it’s a beautiful venue in a gorgeous natural setting. The property has fields, gardens, and lots of light. It also offers lots of variety for photo locations – there is the mansion, the fields, and the carriage house!
The venue is perfect for summer weddings too, as they have a tented space for the reception. Julia + Enrikson included so many fun details for their guests at their party, including the food! For dinner they had Woodman’s of Essex cater a true New England seafood feast. They had fried clams served in cones, and lobsters! It was such a treat. They also had signature drinks, lots of family photos on display, and a Polaroid camera for guests to snap candid pictures. The whole evening was so special. The rain even paused so that we could step away and grab some sunset portraits! After dinner, Julia changed into a fun party dress, and J + E enjoyed some ice cream from the Ben and Jerry’s truck that they rented for the party.
It was, without a doubt, a perfect New England later summer wedding! Congratulations Julia + Enrikson, so happy for you two!
Boston Wedding Photographer
The beauty of your wedding day is just that – it’s yours. You can plan it however you’d like! I loved how J + E incorporated traditions that were important to them, like the church ceremony and parent dances, and paired them with more casual moments like the lobsters and fried clams. Your wedding day can be anything you want it to be!
